The mission of Building Bright Futures (BBF) is to improve the well-being of each and every child and family in Vermont by using evidence to inform policy and bringing voices together to discuss critical challenges and problem solve. At the heart of all of BBF’s work is the child, and the goal of supporting all children in having a healthy start. Children are supported through BBF at the family, community, and systems level through a network of 12 Regional Councils, seven Vermont Early Childhood Action Plan Committees, and the State Advisory Council, which is the mechanism used to advise the Governor and Legislature on the well-being of children in the prenatal period through age 8 and their families. BBF also maintains the vision and strategic plan for Vermont’s Early Childhood System and uses Vermont’s Early Childhood Data and Policy Center to monitor progress for children and families.
